

He was born on March 30, 1963, in St. Louis, Missouri. Gregg lived a life dedicated to his family, aviation, and his love of golf.
As a career airline pilot, Gregg spent decades navigating the skies, a profession he deeply loved. The early years of his airline career were in St. Louis, Missouri, where he flew for Trans World Airlines and completed his career in Viera, Florida, with Jetblue Airways.
When not flying, Gregg often enjoyed his favorite pastime, golf, which brought him great joy. He spent many days on the golf course and loved spending time with college and Duran Golf Club friends. Gregg loved his nightly tradition of golf cart rides with his two best pups, Angelo and Bella.
Gregg was a devoted family man, cherished as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Gregg embraced and adored every minute he could spend with his grandson Grayson. He leaves a legacy of love and memories that his family will treasure forever.
Gregg was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Haefner, and his loving daughter, Alyssa Haefner.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Angela (Bauer) Haefner; son, Garrett Haefner (Caitlin); grandson, Grayson Haefner; mother, Shirleymae (Duessel) Haefner; and brother, Glenn Haefner (Barb). He was also an uncle to Grant Haefner (Priscilla), Ginelle Morin (Scott), and Emma Bauer.
A memorial gathering for Gregg will be held Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home, 11924 East 47th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64133, with rosary service beginning at 4:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Mark Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd, Independence, Missouri 64055. A committal service will follow the mass at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri 64138.
