Gregory R. Mohns, 62, Sedalia, MO, passed away July 25, 2012 at Resthaven Nursing Home. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Greg Mohns Memorial Youth Football Scholarship Fund, in care of Pettis County Community Partnership, 515 S. Kentucky, Sedalia, MO 65301. Greg was born May 1, 1950 in Pasadena, California, son of Willard Ross and June (Rice) Mohns. He was Assistant Coach at Oklahoma State under legendary coach Bum Phillips and at Arizona State under Hall of Fame coach Frank Kush. Greg spent five years as the NFL Director of Player Personnel with the Kansas City Chiefs. Greg will forever be remembered as one of the architects behind three of the Toronto Argonauts Grey Cup championships in 1996, 1997 and 2004, and responsible for finding some of the most talented and decorated players to ever play in the Canadian Football League. He was a 2011 inductee to the Baker University Athletic Hall of Fame. He was preceded in death by his father Willard Mohns and infant sister Pamela. He is survived by his mother June Rice Kneser; son Jason Mohns; fiancée Linda Andreatta; sister Cheri Heeren and husband Dale; three nieces, one nephew, and nine great-nieces and great-nephews whom he loved dearly.
