

Gregory Farrell Munzer, 55, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 in Independence, MO. Visitation from 6-8pm on Tues., March 26th at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel. Mass of Christian burial at St. Mark’s Church (3736 Lee’s Summit Rd., Indep., MO) on Wed., at 2pm with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. Greg was born May 9, 1957 in Salina, KS to Donald & Bernadette Munzer. He married Darcy (Steele) Munzer on October 12, 1991. Greg graduated from Topeka West High School in 1975 and received a B.S. in Journalism in 1979 from The University of Kansas. Greg worked as an account executive for the Independence Examiner, Raytown Post, and Raytown Tribune newspapers. For the last four years he was employed as a Special Services Aide at Raytown High School and enjoyed the students and activities there. Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Bernadette Munzer; his father, Donald Munzer; his step mother, Sue Munzer and sister, Carolyn Munzer Hobson. He is survived by his wife, Darcy of the home; brother, Stephen Munzer (Cindy Trangsrud) of Beverly Hills, CA; brother, Kent Munzer (Patricia) of Topeka, KS; step sister, Kim McBee (Steve) of Shawnee, KS; step sister, Pam Salmon (Bryan) of Rocheport, MO and numerous nephews & nieces.
