
Guy Allen Bolen, 76, of Belton, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday, January 24, at South Haven Baptist Church, 16800 Bel-Ray Boulevard, Belton, Missouri 64012, with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Contributions may be made to the Grandview Historical Society, 1200 Jones Street, Grandview, Missouri 64030. Guy was born on August 30, 1934, in Nappanee, Indiana, to Oscar and Evelyn (Crafton) Bolen. Guy served our country in the United States Marine Corps for four years and was discharged on January 29, 1957. He married the love of his life, Louise White Hewett on September 25, 1955. Following his service to our country he managed the accounting department for Cartwright Van Lines of Grandview, Missouri, retiring in 1989, as Vice-President/Treasurer. Guy was active in his church and community. He was a Charter member of the Martin City Baptist Church where he was an ordained a Deacon in 1976. He later moved his membership to the South Haven Baptist Church where he was honored as a Deacon Emeritus from 2000-2011. Guy was a member of the Grandview School Board and was Mr. Chamber of Commerce in the 1980s. He was also a Past President of the Grandview Historical Society. Guy is survived by his wife Louise of Belton, Missouri, daughters Laura Richardson and husband Douglas of Raymore, Missouri, and Deborah Smith and husband, Mark of Bella Vista, Arkansas, brother Verl Bolen and wife Shirley of St. Louis, Missouri, and five grandchildren Michael Hewitt (Melissa), Timothy Hewitt, Caleb Smith (Julie), Kevin Richardson, and Cathy Scarbourough (Cory).
