Harold “Slim” Corum passed away peacefully on June 19th. He was born on June 6th, 1928 in Salina, Kansas. After raising six children of their own, Harold was adopted by Clarence and Katherine Corum at the age of 2 and was dearly loved by them.
In 1949, he married Alma Van Eaton and to this union, their only child was born, a daughter, Catherine Colleen.
Harold served proudly in the Korean War. He owned his own business, City Wide Delivery for over 30 years. He also worked at House of Lloyd and Hy-Vee while also maintaining his own lawn care service and breeding dogs, both Chow Chows and Basenjis. He was a huge country music fan and enjoyed many trips to Nashville and Branson with his wife and dear friends, Joe and Leona Catron.
In the 1980’s, he was blessed with two grandsons, Patrick and Shaun McNamara. These grandsons gave him four great/grandchildren-Avery, Mary Katherine, Patrick and Kyla. He loved being a Papa and a Great-Papa.
In 2014, he moved to Sunrise Beach, MO to be near his daughter and enjoyed teasing the waitresses at The Chuckwagon Café and Chances R.
● He leaves to mourn his daughter Catherine Wood (Steve), grandsons Pat McNamara (Beth) and Shaun McNamara (Carinne) and his four great grandchildren.
