Harold was known to his family and friends as "Beans". Beans is survived by his daughter Lisa, and his grandson Jeremy. He is further survived by his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith, son Mark, brother Bruce "Sprout", and parents Harold and Alzada.
He honorably served our country, and served as Chief of Police in Lake Lotawana, Missouri, as well as a Kansas City and Grandview police officer. One of Bean’s greatest accomplishments was his law enforcement service, memorialized in 12th and Vine in ‘59, which the family hopes to publish in the near future. He is fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father; proud grandfather; humorist; author; dog lover, especially big dogs; proud patriot; former law enforcement officer; US Army veteran; baseball lover, especially proudly watching his grandson and the Royals; and Chiefs fan.

Dad, Grandfather, Uncle, Gruncle. Dear Friend
Harold Wayne Hatfield Jr. fought valiantly against his battle with cancer. He beat the cancer but was unable to recuperate from numerous complications post-surgery.
Proud to serve in the U.S. Army, Airborne Division in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. He was a Kansas City, Missouri. Police officer, Grandview Police Officer and Chief of Police at Lake Lotawana. He also owned a security patrol company, and was a PI briefly. Harold was a great salesman and met many lifelong friends in the boat business. At one time he owned a boat business in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. He was a past president of the Kansas City Marine Dealers Association. He sold boats for United Marine where he met his partner in crime Gene Miller. He sold boats for Southwest Marine (The Potters) and Bruce Marine (The Crowders). He and his friend Gene were a lifelong sales team. We are sure they are joking it up in heaven. He loved the boat business and working the KC Boat shows at Municipal Auditorium.
He was so proud and devoted to his only grandson Jeremy. He went to every sporting event of Jeremy‘s and they were numerous. He coached little league baseball. He went to soccer, football, baseball, basketball from grade school through college. He helped form Grandview Basketball League sitting at Godfather’s Pizza drinking beer with friends after a baseball game one evening.
Harold dearly loved his family and friends. He was looking forward to future visits and news from his great nephews The Nate’s.
Harold lost his son and brother this past year while also fighting catastrophic illness.
If you didn’t know it already, he wanted you to know- Harold was “one tough Son of a Bitch.” (And proud of it).
God rest his soul.
