Born on July 5, 1942, to Harry Willix and Bernice (Whittier) Willix, Harriet was raised with a strong foundation of faith, family, and kindness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Knabe; her parents; her sister, Charlene (Willix) Robinson; her brother-in-law, Walter Robinson; and her two stepdaughters, Sharilyn Williams and Joyce Knabe.
Harriet was a devoted member of Solid Rock Bible Church on Parvin Road, where she found spiritual strength, fellowship, and a second family in Christ. Her faith was her anchor, and she lived it daily through her grace, generosity, and quiet strength.
She is survived by her dear niece, Marsha Robinson, and nephew, Walter “Butch” Robinson, who held a special place in her heart. She also leaves behind a loving legacy that spans generations: seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom were deeply blessed by her love.
Harriet’s warmth was felt by everyone who knew her. Whether through her involvement in church, her nurturing spirit, or the countless ways she put others first, she lived a life that reflected faith, humility, and compassion.
A visitation to celebrate Harriet’s life will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home (10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131), followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
