Harry "Bud" Burt

Harry W. Burt, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 7, 2015. Funeral service 11am Sat., Feb. 14th at New Salem Baptist Church, 1805 N. Blue Mills Rd, Indep. with visitation beginning at 9am. Inurnment at a later date in Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Harry was born in Kansas City, MO to Harry Sr. & Gertrude Burt. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Harry was a Deacon in his church for many years. He worked for the KCMO Meter Shop. Harry enjoyed his time volunteering at the Palmer Senior Center in Indep., MO.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary Burt. He is survived by his second wife, Margaret; children, Dorothy Myers (Dennis), Mary Ann Burt, Harry Burt III, Maxine Moore (Bruce), Cecelia Carter & Alice Redding (Tim); stepchildren, David Golding (Sherry) & Gloria Best (Lenny); 7 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren with 3 more on the way, many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
