Helen Louise Simmons Becker

Helen L. Becker, 82, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on March 12, 2011. She was born on November 24, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri. Helen married Robert Becker and after raising her three children, worked for American Business Women’s Association for 13 years. She was a member of Colonial Church in Prairie Village. She spent countless hours volunteering her time and talents within the Kingswood Senior Living Community. She received most enjoyment out of life from helping others. Her energetic and positive outlook won her the Spirit Award in 2010 from Kingswood, where she enjoyed independent living. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Robert Becker and son Dan Becker. Survivors include son John Becker and his wife Lisa, daughter Susan Gencarelli and husband Peter, daughter-in-law Sharon Anderson (Kevin), sisters Joanne Kennedy (Nick), Thelma Wever (Don), and Donna Wieligman (Dalbert), grandchildren Cami Becker (Ryan Burns), Katie Sherck (Bill), Zoie Becker, Ellie Becker, Mark Gencarelli (Marissa), Michael Gencarelli (Emily), Matthew Gencarelli, Alex Becker, Austin Becker, and great-grandchildren Santiago Gencarelli, Brady Sherck and Bennett Sherck. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 14th at Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15th at Mount Moriah Cemetery. Memorial Service will follow graveside at 11:00 a.m. in Westminster Hall at Kingswood Senior Living Community, 10000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
