

Helen Theresa Bowman, 93, Kansas City North, passed away December 28, 2012 at North Kansas City Hospital. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday January 3, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel where a Prayer Service will be at 7:30 PM. Contributions are suggested to Concerned Care.
Helen was born July 17, 1919 in Linneus, MO to Raymond and Clarissa (Paahlar) Robinson. She grew up in Brookfield, MO. Moving to Kansas City in 1937 she began working at St. Mary’s Hospital and later CIT (Commercial Investment Credit). She met later and married Charles Ellsworth Bowman on May 21, 1941. Later Helen worked part-time at JC Penney in North Kansas City while raising their three children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Charles in 2005, her parents, and three siblings, Bernadine VanOosterdiep, Edna Scroggins, and Leonard Robinson.
Survivors include a son, Richard Bowman, Kansas City, MO; 2 daughters, Pam (Jim) Castor, Smithville, MO and Theresa Bowman, Gladstone, MO; 2 brothers Gene (Ruth) Robinson, Athens, TN and Robert Robinson, Brookfield, MO; 2 sisters, Mary Lois Robinson, Kansas City, MO and Roberta Wolfe, Brookfield, MO; 4 grandchildren, Barb Bowman, Rich Bowman, Cindy Woods and Eric Castor; and 10 great grandchildren, Devin, Timothy, Jacob and Kenna Woods, Allison, Cody, Ben, and Dylan Castor, Grayson and Seth Bowman.
