Helen M. Floyd, 79, Kansas City, Mo., passed away November 3, 2010, at the Rehab Center of Independence. Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at McGilley and Sheil Chapel, with Memorial Service beginning at 11 a.m. Inurnment in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Helen was born on Sept. 1, 1931, in Versailles, Mo., to Paul and Mabel Merriott. She moved to the Kansas City area when she was 15 years old and was part of the Protestant faith. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Pearl (Blackie) Floyd and her eldest son, John Floyd. She is survived by a son, James Floyd of KCMO; a stepson, Jerome "Jerry" Floyd of Spring Hill, Kan.; daughters, Patty Hildebrandt of Ottawa, Kan., and Debbie Floyd of KCMO, as well as numerous grandchildren.
