Helen was born October 4, 1913 in Kansas City, MO to John and Frances Grazda, the third of seven children. A life-long resident of the Kansas City area, Helen was extremely proud of her Polish heritage. She spoke fluent Polish right up to her passing, researched her family roots often and traveled to Poland for her 80th birthday with her daughter, Mary Edmonds.
Helen’s favorite pastime was eating Polish food, she also enjoyed flowers and reading cookbooks. She spent many enjoyable hours with her friends at the Shepherd’s Center. Helen was a long time member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. She is survived by her only child, Mary, with whom she lived for the last 20 years, and her beloved friend, Hildi, a boxer.
Services will be Thursday, June 12 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1029 Bennington Ave, Kansas City, MO 64126with burial to follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery.
