
Helen Marie Jacobs passed away peacefully on November 13, 2010, at the age of 95. Visitation from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, with funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel. Burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Helen was born April 2, 1915, to Ralph and Margaret Murphy of KCMO. After she married, she became a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother for the rest of her adult life. She loved to bake, especially her famous chocolate cake for family birthdays. Helen also loved to crochet, making many Afghans for the family along with many other items. She was fond of all kinds of music, fishing at Gibson Lake, singing and dancing. The family enjoyed many home cooked meals, especially on the holidays. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Jacobs, Sr. and daughter, Sharon Marie Geabhart. She is survived by her two sons, Leonard Jacobs, Jr. and wife Alice and Jimmy Jacobs and wife Diana; one daughter, Patricia Occhipinto and husband Frank; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
