Helen Marie Schorgl age 98 of Independence Mo passed away in Hospice care at Centerpoint Hospital in Independence on January 28 2025. She was born in La Monte Mo in 1926 to Dewey & Opal Rice. Helen was preceded in death by her husband James Joseph Schorgl, daughter Elizabeth Borders, great grandson Seth Franklin, and sister Velma Slocum. She is survived by daughters Patricia Capps (Bob) and Denise McMurray (Mike), sisters Maxine Sharp and Jolene Kinman, 6 Grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Helen was devoted to her family and will by missed by all.
A visitation for Helen will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Mark Catholic Church, 3736 S Lee's Summit Rd, Independence, MO 64055. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 3736 S Lee's Summit Rd, Independence, MO 64055. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Mt Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO 64138.
