Henry Weekly, Jr. was born June 28, 1931 to Henry Weekly, Sr. and Goldie Ballard-Weekly in Kansas City, Missouri.
He graduated high school in Kansas City, Missouri and then served in the U. S. Army, as a paratrooper, during the Korean War.
He united in holy matrimony to Frances J. Donald, August 11, 1977. He worked as a laborer after serving in the military, retiring from KCMO School District, Hall’s Crown Center and KCMO Police Tow Lot. He also worked as a butcher and school crossing guard. He enjoyed working, watching football, basketball and listening to music.
Henry was preceded in death by his father Henry Weekly, Sr.; mother Goldie Ballard-Weekly, brothers George, Theodore and Midge Osborn; sisters Goldie Weekly-Chapman and Mattie Mae Weekly; grandsons Frederick Jones, Adrian Caldwell, Aderyl Caldwell; granddaughter LaTrisha Weekly; wife Frances J. Donald-Weekly.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Lynda (Walter) Grigsby of KCMO and Nedra Jones of KCMO; son, Henry Porter of KCMO. nine grandchildren: Terryl Riley, Gary Riley, King Phillip Amman Reu El, Antonio Sloan, Dorsina Jones, Sainthelia Weekly, LaShawn Porter, LaRon Porter and Melissa Porter; thirty-five great-grandchildren; thirty-six great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; a host of other relatives; neighbor and friend Mr. Lloyd Seales.
A Visitation for Henry will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00pm. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
