

Herb Kimbrell, a beloved resident of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away on November 6, 2025, at his home, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and dedication to family and friends. He was known for his warm smile and generous heart.
Born on January 14,1935 to Hattie P. Kennedy Kimbrell and Rufus L. Kimbrell in Cass County, Missouri. He was the 5th of seven children, Rufus, William, Helen, Leslie, Dorthy and Larry.
A lifelong Missouri resident, he spent his married and working life with Lucille Overton Kimbrell in the Kansas City and Lee's Summit area. He and Lucille retired from Bell South and AT&T.
Lucille predeceased him in June 2014 after sixty plus years of marriage. Two of their best years were with the U.S. Army in Germany where they toured Europe extensively.
After returning from the army, Herb became active in the Ararat Shrine Motor Corps and later Jesters. He traveled all over for parades, conventions and visits to the Shriner’s Children's Hospital. Those hospital visits were especially close to his heart.
Herb and Lucy established homes and many friends in Lake Lotawana, Missouri, Alpine, Colorado and Green Valley, Arizona.
Left to remember him are his sister, Helen Rea, many nieces and nephews, godson Sheldon and Herb’s loving toy poodle, Joey.
He had a love filled an adventurous life well lived. The world was a better place with him here. Herb Kimbrell’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., a Memorial Service followed by a Royal Order of Jester's Court #54 Rose Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home,10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131.Memorial contributions may be made to the Ararat Shriners Transportation Fund.
