Huntley was a quiet consistent presence, insuring that all of those around him, especially his wife and children, had everything they needed. He would help anyone in need without a second thought. He leaves a hole in his family's heart that will never be filled.
Huntley was an inspiration to all of those whose lives he touched. He grew up in the small town of Pleasant Hill, Missouri on the farm with his parents. He was in the Army and served in the Korean War. After the war, he returned home to Pleasant Hill. At the Overland Park Philips 66 station he owned with his brothers, he mentored dozens of young men teaching them not only about auto mechanics but about life. In his early years, he enjoyed piloting his own plane. He was an avid angler. His favorite place was on the lake with his wife, Gwen, competing to see who would catch the most fish. She was frequently the champion. He loved to play the guitar and be involved in the making of music. Music was a bond that cemented many long-term friendships. On any given day, you could find Huntley loading up the boat or riding the lawnmower. He was a jokester at heart, always teasing and laughing with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
