Irma J. Johnson-Pearson

Sis Irma Jean Johnson-Pearson was born December. 1, 1951 to Sylvester Johnson and Erma Mae Rambo in Ringgold, Louisiana. She was the oldest of 6 children. She was preceded in death by her father, her sister Barbara Patrick, stepfather Arthur Simmons. She was a graduate of Southside High School, Ringgold LA, class of 1970.

She was united in holy matrimony with Woodrow Pearson, June 6, 1984. She worked in outpatient billing at Research and Children’s Mercy. She retired after 30+ years of service.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Lukes in Ringgold, LA. She later moved to Kansas City and was a member of True Love MBC under leadership of Rev. Emmanuel Rambo. She later joined Corinthian MBC under the leadership of Rev. BG Roberson where she was a faithful member until her passing.

“Jean” or “Irma Jean” as she was affectionately known, was a protector of her family, avid book reader and loved crossword puzzles. She loved her music, her favorite song was “Cowboys to girls” by The Intruders.

Irma Jean will sorely be missed but her legacy will be kept alive through those who loved her dearly.

Irma leaves to cherish her memory of her husband of 39 years, Woodrow Pearson, sons James (Carla) and Adrian Johnson, step-daughter Tuesday (Harry) Lewetzow, her loving mother Erma M. Simmons, 3 sisters Carolyn Rogers, Vevelyn Simmons (Harrel), Diane Simmons. 1 brother Ronnie Simmons (Barbara). 1 granddaughter Alaisja, 7 grandsons, Nashon, AJ, Tyrell, Gabriel, Jalen, Ajaden and Kendell, and goddaughter Shanea Lee.

She left a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, special cousins (big brother DL Roberson and Shirley Rambo-Kendrick), close cousin Jerlene Roberson and childhood friend Juanita Coates.

A Visitation for Irma will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, 6841 Sni A Bar Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64129. Following the Visitation will be a Homegoing Celebration of Life from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
