

Isabel Irene Schmidt, 78, Harrisonville, MO passed away December 29, 2017.
She was born in Iquique, Chile on October 20, 1939, daughter of the late Ismael and Aida Farias. On October 11, 1968, Isabel married her love, Eugene Schmidt, who preceded her in death in 1991. They were married for 23 years.
Isabel started her career as a nurse and when she reached the United States worked several locations as a caregiver and treatment assistant. In a career shift, she took a position as a kitchen manager for Red Lobster Restaurants in locations in Kansas City and Independence, where she worked until her retirement.
She loved making and serving good food so she continued to serve the community by working at the Senior Center in Harrisonville providing meals to seniors and guests of the Harrisonville Community Center. She did the same at the Hillcrest Community Center where she received an award for outstanding service.
Isabel is survived by her three children: Franklin, Christian, and Cynthia.- six grandchildren: Brittany, Codi, Alison, Scott, Colten and Bret-and two great grandchildren: Gavin and Lincoln. All of which lived nearby and brought great joy to her later years.
Visitation will be held 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., with services immediately following at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 8 at Mount Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
