Isabelle Marie Long passed away April 13, 2018 in Overland Park, KS. She was born at home in Pilot Grove, MO on February 27, 1922. She was married to Clifford Long on April 22, 1942. They had 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Her children are Larry Long, Nixa, MO, Carole Werner-Thompson, Leawood, KS, and John Long, Shawnee, KS. Her grandchildren are Mark Werner, Ahwatukee, AZ, Chris Werner, Escondido, CA, Amanda Davidson & Emily Long, Shawnee, KS.
Isabelle was a homemaker devoting her time to her husband and children. She worked in retail sales at Harzfelds Department Store on the Country Club Plaza as well as Rothschild, downtown. She also worked as a personal shopper at Adler’s downtown location.
She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed designing clothes for family and friends. She was an avid gardener and loved her perennial garden. She spent her time crocheting items for the homeless and less fortunate. She donated over 500 mufflers & hats to Catholic Charities. She loved to cook and helped neighbors who were homebound with their meals.
She was a member of Christ the King Altar and Rosary Society. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her favorite charity was Operation Smile, helping children born with facial deformities. Visitation will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church at 85th & Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO on Saturday, April 21 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m.
