Jack Henry Cordsen, 84 of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully, October 12, 2023. He was born November 10, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Walter H. and Delouise (Tess) Cordsen. He was the eldest of two children.
Jack was a lifelong Kansas Citian and graduated from Ruskin High School and Findley Engineering School. He was an avid boater and loved being on the water at the Lake of the Ozarks with his family and friends. Jack led a drag boat racing team in the early years and was a collector of cars. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography and making stained glass art. In his career, he was a land developer, restaurant builder, custom homebuilder and he built hundreds of fourplexes in the Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs and Kansas City Metro areas. He served in the United States Air Force.
Jack was preceeded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Jim Holbrook.
Jack is survived by his companion, Peggy Holmes, and his sister, Elaine Holbrook. Jack is survived by two children, Rod Cordsen (Dana) of Austin, Texas, and Carrie Windsor (James) of Kansas City, Missouri; nephews Brett Holbrook (Crissy) and Lance Holbrook (Michelle). He had four grandchildren, Chris Cordsen (Lindsay), Kelley Wirtz (Ben), Brittney Brownell (Mike), and Michelle Blankenship, and eight great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation can be made to the American Cancer Society.
