

Jack Hampton Williams, 76, Kansas City, MO, passed away November 30, 2014. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 4, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
Jack was born February 27, 1938, son of Tony and Juanita Williams. He graduated from Paseo High School in 1956 where he participated in Jr. ROTC and was a member of the Rifle Team. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1956 under a program of six months active service and then served six years in the Reserves. He served the six month active service at Camp Pendleton, CA and the Reserves at the Olathe Naval Air Station as a jet aircraft mechanic. Jack also completed a pre-engineering and math program at Kansas City Junior College and the University of Missouri-KC.
He was an avid private pilot. Jack also enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, stained glass, and woodworking, but especially flying.
He worked as a heavy casualty underwriter for various companies such as Consolidated Underwriters Insurance Co., Transamerica Insurance Co. and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. where he was also the Manager of Large Accounts Casualty Underwriting. He most recently worked 29 years for Thomas McGee & Sons as an account executive. Jack was a member of the Insurance Committee of the Associated General Contractors of Missouri, Inc. and Associated General Contractors of America. He had also served on the Worker’s Compensation Determination Review Board for the State of Missouri from 2000 to 2003.
In his retirement years he served as risk manager for several local corporations. He especially enjoyed working with his cousin, Gene, at the Rew Group of Companies.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Tony and Juanita Williams and daughter Barbara Blatz. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Gay Williams, son David Fette and wife Pam, grandchildren Lindsey (Matt), Nick and Audrey (Jon), great-grandchildren Lane and Paige, brother Bob Williams, and many nieces and nephews
