

Jake was born with Cerebral Palsy, but, he did not let that stop him from living his best life. He enjoyed laughing and joking. His friends at school looked forward to their daily interaction with Jake. If he wasn’t there, he would be very missed. He was a total celebrity. Jake attended and graduated from Lee’s Summit West High School, Class of 2012.
He was a huge sports fan!! He especially followed the Kansas City Royals, Chiefs, and the KU Jayhawks. He would miss not 1 game – if he could help it.
He was dedicated to attending the Adult Day Program. There he would engage in fun activities and social outings. He was delighted every day to go. He was a member for the past several years and the staff and other members became a huge part of his life. During the summer, he attended Camp Barnabas. He was excited about the adventures he would experience while there. The highlight of his summertime.
Jacob was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Chuck and Faye Gaggens and his maternal grandfather Don Beard.
He leaves to cherish his everlasting memories are his Mother and step-father, Debbie and Jim McCorkendale; father, Russell Gaggens; two sisters, Tara and Victoria Gaggens; maternal grandmother, Mary Beard; paternal uncle and aunt, Charles and Cheryl Gaggens; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom loved him dearly.
Jake will forever be missed.
Memorial services will begin at 11:00 am on March 26, 2022 at Lee’s Summit Christian Church, 800 NE Tudor Rd. Lee’s Summit, MO 64086.
Burial will take place at a later date to be determined.
