A Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Friday February 5th, at St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Gladstone, Missouri.
Jacqueline Louise Cullen was born February 15, 1926 in Tipton, Missouri, the daughter of the late John Schwickrath and Louise (Balduc) Schwickrath. She is survived by her sister Dorothy (Schwickrath) Kuttenkuler and Robert (Bob) Schwickrath and predeceased by her brothers Cecil White and Joseph Schwickrath. She was married to the late William (Bill) E Cullen and together they had six children, David Cullen (wife Jill), Pat Cullen (wife Belinda), Thomas Cullen, John Cullen (wife Jean), Mary (Cullen) Beaumont and was predeceased by her son Mark Cullen (wife Karen.) She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was a graduate of the Tipton High School and Hickey College (formerly Miss Hickey School of Business) in St Louis, Missouri. A life-long learner she continued to attend college classes at the University of Nebraska, Kearney campus, UMKC and at various Metropolitan Community College campuses, and had a great love of Art History and the social sciences. With her fluency in Gregg Shorthand she was often recruited, well into her late seventies, to record board meetings of some of the largest firms in the Kansas City area. She was a frequent volunteer in several charitable organizations, particularly Catholic Charities. When volunteering in her mid-eighties she was queried about her activities. She responded “I take care of old people.” She did not consider herself in that category.
For remembrances the family suggests contributions to Catholic Charities, KCUR FM or KCPT TV sent in care of McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Rd., Kansas City, Missouri, 64119.
