Jackie was born February 3, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri to Clyde Sr. and Helen (Constance) Shields.
Jackie graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1951 and attended Central Missouri State College. She met her future husband Danny Lee Eberts and they were married at NKC First Christian Church in 1952. They built a house and made their home in Avondale, Missouri, for 67 years.
Jackie worked as Collector for Avondale for 3 years. She began her banking career at City National Bank (which later became UMB) in 1964. She finished her working career as Church Secretary for NKC First Christian Church in 1993.
Jackie was a Christian Church Disciples of Christ member since 1952. She was a member of Community Christian Church for the last 29 years where she participated in the Alpha Group and the Bell Choir.
Jackie and Danny were loyal Kansas City Royals fans and were season ticket holders for many years.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 71 years, Danny Eberts, one brother, Clyde Shields Jr. and 3 daughters, Karen Wolters, Cynthia Smith, and Janet (and husband Phil) Page, 3 grandchildren Kristen Smith (Val Guillen), Justen Smith (Amber), and Brandon Page; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Constance Inman, a granddaughter Natalie Wolters and a son-in-law, Glenn Smith.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, May 30th, with visitation from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, at the McGilley Antioch Chapel. Burial will be in the White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested in Jackie’s memory to Community Christian Church, 4601 Main St, Kansas City, MO 64112.
