

He was born on September 15, 1948 in Creston, Iowa to his parents, Lyle and Mary Ellen Beaman. He was a devoted husband of 49 years, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He never missed an event – always supporting and cheering on his loved ones on the sidelines. He was an avid sports fan of the Huskers, Chiefs, Royals, and NASCAR. He was the founding father/supporter of BMX races in the greater Kansas City area. Jim retired after 30 years from the KC VA Medical Center as Engineering Project Manager. He was a member of Ivanhoe United Church of Christ. Jim always loved family vacations at the Lake of the Ozarks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Mary Ellen Beaman.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sandra; son, Jason Beaman; son, Eric Beaman (Elisa); daughter, Rebecca Schafer; sister, Judy Koster (Kenny); five grandchildren: Spencer and Lillian Beaman, Kendyl and Perry Schafer, and Evageline Beaman; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 PM, with service at 1:30 PM, on Saturday, April 24, at Ivanhoe United Church of Christ, 6512 Woodson Rd, Raytown, MO 64133. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133.
