He was an avid outdoorsman, including: Eagle Scout, served in the Army, was a member of Sigma Chi (Westminster College), and a member of Country Club Christian Church. His hobbies included being with his 9 grandchildren, fishing, reading, playing bridge and cruises around the Caribbean, Hawaii, Panama Canal, Nova Scotia, and Alaska with his wife JoEllen and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife JoEllen, and parents, James and Neva Caskey.
He is survived by his two sons, Jim (Danielle) and Patrick (Melissa) with a combined total of 9 grandchildren along with his sister Martha.
A memorial service with military honors for James will be held Friday, June 20, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Country Club Christian Church, 6101 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, Missouri 64113.
