

James “Loyd” Lininger, 84, Kansas City North, passed away March 4, 2013 at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral services will be 12 Noon Thursday, March 7th at the Avondale United Methodist Church where a visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. A second visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday, March 9th at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Isabella Cemetery, Isabella, MO. Contributions are suggested to the Avondale United Methodist Church or Isabella Cemetery.
Loyd was born February 3, 1929 in Gainesville to Carl Everett and Ella Bertha (Allen) Lininger. He lived most of his life in Kansas City. On June 25, 1966 he was married to Rena at the Avondale United Methodist Church where he was a faithful member. Loyd retired from Armco Steel following 30 years as a foundry worker. He was preceded in death by a brother, Fray Lininger; sister, Flomay Smith; 2 daughters, Linda Marlene Shannon and Deloris Shelton; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Shannon.
Survivors include his wife, Rena, of the home; sons, Delmar (Joanne) High, Kansas City and Lawrence (Lynn) Lininger, Gainesville, MO; daughters, Redina (Dennis) Burge, Parkville, MO and Wanda Sue (Sam) Misasi, Liberty, MO; a sister, Chloe (John) Starkey, Belton, MO; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
