Jim was born on October 18, 1922, in Kansas City, MO. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Navy as Master Chief Radioman. Jim worked for the FAA more than 30 years. He had a bachelor degree in Physics from Drury College, a masters degree in Electronic Engineering and a masters degree in Communication from the University of MO, Columbia.
He was a life-time amateur radio operator and held an extra class license. On numerous occasions he assisted areas in crisis around the world with communications. He was an Eagle Scout, tribe of Mic-O-Say.
Jim was a deacon at First Baptist Church of Kansas City, MO. He and wife Pat were avid square and round dancers, often seven nights a week.
He is preceded in death by his eldest son James Russell Logan and his brothers John Logan and Delmer Logan. Jim is survived by his wife of 73 years, Pat, daughter Kathleen J. Bagby of Prairie Village, KS, son Michael D. Logan (Joyce) of Venice, FL, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister Betty Brooks of Forest Lake, MN, and sister-in-law MR Logan of Las Vegas, NV.
Visitation and Military Honors will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, at Mt. Moriah Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home.
