James Dean Masters

November 28, 1944April 21, 2020

Reverend James Dean Masters, 75, of Kansas City, MO, was born November 28, 1944 in Jacksonville, Florida and passed away April 21, 2020.

He served 3 tours, earning The Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Long Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Republic of Vietnam Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster. He was Honorably discharged as a Sergeant. In short, he was a true hero in every aspect of the word.

In his final moments, he gave his life to save the life of another. Dean was an inspiration to all who knew him. He never knew a stranger, they were simply a friend he hadn't met yet. Dean served his community by helping the homeless and less fortunate. He also sat on the board for Angel Eyes Maternity House. Dad,
I really don’t know what to say. We had a unique relationship. But we always knew that we loved each other. I did enjoy talking with you. You knew how to make me laugh and how to get me to argue. I will miss our debates. There has already been times I have picked up the phone to call you. But as I go to call you I remember that you can’t answer. Rest In Peace.

Love always,
Debbie

Dad,
I think about you every day since you left this world. So many things to say, you were my hero in every sense of the word. No you were no perfect but you were perfect to me. I was blessed to have you as my dad and I don't think that was by accident but by God. You taught us all to believe in God and have faith, to forgive often even those who would continue to hurt you, to help others even when its hard and not to seek your treasure here on earth but instead to store richness in Heaven. One memory that stand out the strongest is a story about faith and believing that God hears your prayers and answers if you believe. When I was little at one of the many morning devotionals before school we were reading about prayer request, Dad had all of us make a prayer request list. I remember a couple things on the list was a bike, and a swing set. So I prayed over this list for what seemed like forever ( I am sure it was just a couple days) and sure enough here comes dad one day in the back of the truck was a swing set!!! It was not new, on the contrary it was most likely picked up out of the trash, But it was new to me and I can remember feeling like the luckiest girl in the world!! God heard my prayer and my dad was the vessel.. In that moment the world was right and there was a God in Heaven that was listening to me. Because of dad instilling this faith in me I continue to believe there is a God in Heaven that hears my prayers and answers them in his way and in his time " only now he has my biggest fan by his side".
Thank you dad for all you did for me to make me the strong, independent women I have become. I am far from perfect but hope that I will continue to make you proud.
I love you dad,
till we meet again
love,
your Daughter

My name is Chris i know I'm family by soon to be marriage and I know I've only known Dean for about 6 months but hey that's enough to get to know a awesome man like Dean. He always was helping me with anything I needed he is the one that got me back into church. I miss him alot and I want to say thank you Dean for doing everything you have done. Anyways I still remember that first time when the chiefs were playing the broncos lol and at the time I was a Denver broncos fan and every time chiefs and broncos would play and score a touchdown you would scream at me from your study and say what was that Chris who's going to win lol and it was just fun sitting there watching football games with Dean and I'ma miss that especially when football season comes around and I'ma def miss going to church with you and sitting there listening to wheel of Fortune while I was in the living room but I'm glad you are somewhere better where you aren't hurting love you Dean Masters and always will ....

P.S football season won't be the same without you....

Dad we all love and miss you! We know that you are flying high with the Angel's. You helped me through a lot. You was a listening ear for everyone and always had the right words to say to all of us. Dad was never afraid to talk about his faith in Jesus Christ. Dad you inspired all of us. You are missed by many. I know I'll see you again, but not to soon.

I love and miss you,

My Fred was a "Hero". Didn't need a Cape, his Super Powers was in his Cap! He recieved a special gift from God that so many if us wish we possessed, but we do! Unconditional Love, he carried it with every he went on the daily bases. It didn't matter, color, size, male, female dog cat or kid. Pleasing Jesus was his daily goal. God saw his Crown could take no more "Stars" his final act as a "Hero" has come to an end. All the joy, laughs and hugs and kisses we shared will be forever in my heart and soul
Love you Fred.

Thank you for being a hero via the military and even through this tragedy. So many times I think of the all fun and great times we had in Branson, at their shows and Cakes and Creams etc.... You had a wealth of knowledge and jokes and a love of God, children and your country. My daughter loved her Popo Deano and truly thought she was related by blood. You always made her and I feel so special. Thanks for loving me, my family and making special memories. You were loved and a treasure. We miss you and can’t wait to see you in heaven. Save me a seat by you and yes, you can have the isle one. Hahahahaha!
