Jamie Jo Boos

Play Tribute Movie

Everyone that ever knew her, even for the shortest of times, has lost a dear friend. Jamie Jo Boos, passed away, Thursday, May 16, 2019.

Jamie, a loving wife and mother of four children passed away at the age of 48. Never wanting to be defined by cancer, because of her will to fight it, Jamie drew her last breath with her husband, Shane Boos, holding her hand, as he had through the entire fight.

Born in the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division Headquarters, Wurzburg, Bavaria, Germany. Survived by parents Patti Lynn Dolecheck (husband/stepfather Cecil), father James Steven “Steve” Jones. May 13, 2000, Jamie married Shane. Together they have three daughters, Abby, Megan and Alexa, and one son, Will. Jamie is survived by siblings Justin and his wife Teena Jones; Stephanie and her husband Cody Knop; her four nieces, one nephew, and two step sisters Laura Dowd and Lisa O'Keefe.

Jamie grew up in Mount Ayr, IA, graduating from Mount Ayr High School in 1989. Participating on the dance team, basketball and track, in which she won multiple state championships. She went on to graduate from Drake University College of Pharmacy in 1994. Member of Delta Gamma Sorority at Drake - rush chair.

After graduation, Jamie joined the Osco Drug family and remained there during the many acquisitions throughout her career. During her 25-year tenure, she not only cared for her patients, but was known for her role as a Pharmacy Recruiter, adding hundreds of pharmacists to the Osco/CVS family.

But it was after meeting Shane that her life took an additional path. Jamie was confirmed in the Catholic faith in 2000. Jamie and Shane were instantly involved with their church and its’ community. A volunteering member of Church of the Ascension, Overland Park, KS, the pair were also volunteers in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program.

Life became busier when the couple welcomed Abby and Will into the world in 2005. Then Megan in 2008 and Alexa in 2010. Whether it was sports, scouts or being a room parent, her energy for her family showed no bounds. Eventually being a supporter of Camp Kesem, a free program dedicated to supporting children impacted by a parent’s cancer, www.campkesem.org. The unique love that she wove into her immediate Boos’ family was and still remains indescribable.

Jamie was a best friend to everyone outside her family as well. There was never a bad day to be with or around her. Socially she enjoyed concerts, golf, board games, parties, alumni events (for schools she didn't even go to) but mostly time among friends. Her smile was contagious. Her sense of humor, while always extremely sharp, was delivered with precious timing and something that never left her, up until the very end. That’s what most will miss about Jaime, how she embodied the love and friendship of Christ so fully. She left us with her beautiful model for love, friendship and strength, and may we be to others what she was to us.

Thank you Jamie for being our wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend.

Sometimes He takes the best to try to teach the rest of how we should be.

And remind us of what life is like without the best in it.

Rest in peace with the Lord Jamie - you were one He chose, and that He blessed us all with.

Shane and the entire Boos family, take some peace in knowing that he chose her, and all of you, to be exactly what he chose her for.

Our love and the hand of the Lord is with Jamie, and each of you.
