She lived a life rooted in love, faith, family, and compassion. Early in life, she dreamed of becoming an LPN so she could help others and share the love of Jesus through caring for those around her.
Family was at the heart of her life. She was especially proud of becoming a wife, raising her daughter, welcoming grandchildren, and bringing loved ones together for family reunions. She treasured the good times spent with family and friends and found joy in making memories with the people she loved.
Her faith was an important part of who she was. She served as the leader of her church’s Health and Wellness group, using her compassion and caring spirit to encourage and support others. She hoped that people would learn to get along with one another, showing kindness, understanding, and love.
She had many interests that brought her happiness. She loved cardinals, sunflowers, and all that they represented to her—beauty, warmth, and hope. She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, camping, traveling, and painting ceramics. One of her favorites was riding and driving ATV’s. Through these simple joys, she created beautiful things and wonderful memories.
Above all, she hopes to be remembered for the love she had for her family. Her greatest joy was knowing that the people she loved were together, cared for, and surrounded by love.
Her legacy is one of faith, compassion, family, and kindness. May those who knew and loved her carry those qualities forward, remembering her not only for the life she lived, but for the love she gave so freely.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Henry and Mary; brother, Edward; and granddaughter, Angel.
Janet is survived by her husband of 51 years, Temple; her daughter, Crystal; grandchildren: Brittany, Angelia and Rhonda; brothers, Henry and Gary Sr.; sister, Terri; as well as other family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 9-10am on Friday, August 21, with service to begin at 10am, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO. Burial will follow at Floral Hills.
