Janet was born April 29, 1944 to Dorothy (Cameron) and Donald Ford in Horton, Kansas.
At age 7, Janet joined the local 4-H club and was a member until she turned 17. Her mother was her cooking and sewing leader.
She attended grade schools in Bern and Centralia, Kansas before moving to Everest, where she attended high school, graduating in 1962.
On graduation night, Janet moved to Kansas City, Missouri. In 1965, she met Richard Wilkinson. They married in 1968 and had a son, Darrin Wilkinson, of the home. They later divorced. On May 12, 1984, Janet married James Price, the father of Scott and Jenny. They also later divorced and on March 28, 2015, Dennis Jones and Janet married. Sadly, Dennis, the father of Christina and Patricia, passed in 2016. Their time together was cut short and we know there was a glorious reunion in Heaven.
Janet was a Walmart Associate for 35 years. She retired in 2015 and became active in the Grandview VFW where Dennis, a Vietnam Veteran, was a member. Janet was still an active member of the Belton VFW auxiliary. She was devoted to helping others and was active in the Veteran’s Community Project, Camp Quality for Children with Cancer, Raymore Sunrise Optimist Club, and Belton Optimist Club. She also enjoyed getting out to play BINGO and did so for many years. She loved sharing laughter with friends and family.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, 3 husbands, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Janet is survived by her son, Darrin, of the home; daughters Julie Rimola of Denver, CO, and Sheila Sheridan of Mission, KS; Stepson Scott (Corey) Price of Peculiar, MO; Stepdaughters Jenny (Mike) Golden of Kansas City, KS; Christina (Randy) Klein of Peculiar, MO; Patricia (John) Williams of Belton, MO; sisters Tonya Kay (Bob) Banks of Malden, MO and VJ Russell of Phoenix, AZ. She had one very close cousin, Sharman (Jim) Heineken of Muscotah, KS.
