

Janet Hazel Robinson was born August 31, 1926 in Laona, Wisconsin. After graduating in 1944 from Laona High School, Janet went on to Stout Institute and the Stevens Point Teachers College where she majored in home economics for three years. She then moved to Milwaukee and worked in several office jobs including Marquette University and Brooks Stevens. She then moved to Richmond, Illinois and worked at Honey Bear Farms on the Wisconsin border. Next she moved to Woodstock, Illinois where she lived until she accepted a position at the American Medical Association in Chicago. She lived in Chicago and worked as an administrative assistant at the AMA for 20 years. She loved dogs and owned two Maltese dogs named Peanuts and Rascal that lived with her in her apartments in Chicago. She retired in 1982 and bought a home in Mineral Point, Wisconsin where she worked for Lands End and did part time work for a local attorney. In Mineral Point Janet enjoyed spinning, weaving, gardening and making jelly, root beer, ice cream, and candles. Janet loved to travel. Her travels included extensive trips throughout the United States and trips to Norway and Switzerland. She had a lifetime love of nature and birds that was nurtured by her mother at a young age. Janet moved from Madison, WI to Overland Park, KS in 2009. She died May 9, 2015 at Kansas City Hospice.
She was a devoted sister and loving Aunt and a kind friend to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her love of her family and her positive attitude toward life taking each stage of life in stride. Janet is survived by her brothers Jim (Barbara) Robinson, and John Robinson; sisters Joyce Robinson, Lois (Dick) Price; nephews John Jr. (Amber) Robinson, Michael Price, Lee J. Robinson; nieces Heidi (David) Aprahamian, Lor-Lin (Terry) Shipman; and great nieces Elizabeth Aprahamian, Mia Lin Shipman and Rayne Deffenbaugh.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Eva Buran Robinson, step-mother Frances Robinson, brother and sister-in-law Keith and Lois Robinson, sister-in-law Charlene Robinson. There will be a private burial in Merrill, Wisconsin.
