Janet Sue Seghers

Janet Sue “Nonie” Seghers, age 83, died peacefully at home on October 2, 2023. Janet was born on August 2, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri to Jake Hill and Jeanette DiBenedetto, fathered by Jack F. DiBenedetto. Janet spent many years of her life in Hansboro, ND where she raised her two beloved daughters, Deana Sue and Stacey Lynn. She later returned home to Kansas City where she made her living as a hairdresser.

Janet was a woman of many hobbies including embroidery, sewing, coloring, playing solitaire, scratching her bingo cards, smoking her cigarettes, and yelling at the TV during every Chiefs game. She loved to attend her grandchildrens and great-grandchildren’s sporting events as she was always their number one fan. Janet’s favorite times were spent at large family gatherings with her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Janet is survived by her daughter, Stacey Lynn (Larry) Lackey of Kansas City, Missouri; her grandchildren: Joshua (Mandy) Gable, Danielle (Derrick) Hendrickson, Adam (Angel) Gable, John Tyler (Katey) Gable, and Richard Cowger; her great-grandchildren: Morgan, Logan, Kaden, Liam, Dalton, Aubree, Mya Sue, Ellie, Ragan, Macey, Parker, and Jaxson; and her brothers Bobby Dean Hill and Jackie DiBenedetto.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Jeanette DiBenedetto and her daughter, Deana Sue Cowger.

The family will host a memorial service at 2:00 PM on October 21, 2023 at 1825 Welleslay Ct., Liberty, MO 64068.
