Born on August 13th, she grew up in Raytown and later moved to Lees Summit. She was a dedicated and loving wife and a devoted mother to her six children; daughters, Joy Shull, Lisa Shull and Kelley Shull-Tredwin; sons, Sean Christenson, Zane Christenson, and Ian Christenson.
Janet lived a very fulfilling life dedicating herself to many years of teaching in the Blue Springs School District where she later retired. She also had a passion for sports, watching professionals as well her children in their various activities. In her free time Janet enjoyed caring for her many boxers and getting together to reminisce with friends.
Janet was a kind and caring soul, always putting the community’s needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile and warm personality.
She is preceded in death by her Mother, Genevieve (Elmore) Wheeler; Father, John “Chick” Wheeler; and Son, Sean Christenson. She will be overjoyed to see them again.
She is survived by her daughters Joy Shull, Lisa Shull and Kelley Shull-Tredwin; her sons, Ian Christenson and Zane Christenson; and her grandchildren Paul Onor, Ezra Tredwin, Shadiya Onor, Lillian Christenson and Calvin Christenson who will miss her dearly.
A celebration of life will be held at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rainbow Center for the Developmentally Disabled in memory of Janet Marie Shull-Christenson.
