Janis Ann (Blackwell) Jones, age 74, died on December 16, 2013 surrounded by her family at St. Luke’s Hospice House after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at Grace Point Baptist Church, 10415 Chestnut Drive, Kansas City, Missouri on Saturday, December 21, 2013 with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m.
Janis was born on March 2, 1939 in Monett, Missouri to Joseph and Neva Blackwell. She grew up in Kansas City, graduating from Westport High School and attended William Jewell College. She was a member of Grace Point Baptist Church where she served as church clerk.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth Jones; three children Lori (Rick) Barry, Melanie (Doug) Doll, and Deron Jones; eight grandchildren Courtney and Stephanie Barry, Dillon, Alana and Dayton Doll, and Timothy, Taylor and Tara Jones.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Point Baptist Church.
