Jean was born October 4, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri to Mary Catherine Brandt Mais and Oliver Lester Mais. During her childhood she was known to be the only girl and a tomboy. She has one brother, Richard Lester Mais. Jean Ann was known for always being independent and wanting to help others. She did very well in school, she graduated a year early from high school and went on to complete bachelor’s and master’s degrees at UMKC. She continued to a career in research and development in Pharmaceuticals. On top of being hardworking, Jean Ann has always enjoyed nature and traveling. She also loved science, art, politics and being a grandma. She was well known for being smart but quirky, living in her own world and always making someone smile.
Jean Ann is survived by her husband, Glen Noel Kimball. Her three children David Patrick Kimball, Catherine Mae Kimball and Angelee Marie Kimball. One granddaughter, Kalilah Maelyn Caston-Kimball. Her older brother Richard Lester Mais, sister-in law, Rebecca Grimes Mais, and nephews Brandt Allen Mais and Peter McCabe Mais.
There will be a memorial service Saturday November 7, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a reception at 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home. Located at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, Missouri 64133
