Jean Ewing Stodghill, 91, Independence, MO passed away June 17, 2016 at Villages of Jackson Creek. Visitation will be from 2:30-3:00 p.m. followed by memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd.
Mrs. Stodghill was born August 10, 1924 in Kansas City, MO. She was a graduate of Westport High School and attended Kansas City College (now UMKC). She married her high school sweetheart, Ben Stodghill, during WWII. Family and friends were her joy in life. Jean was a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clark and Hazel Ewing, husband Ben Stodghill, sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Tom Poland. Jean is survived by her four children Benton C. (Marilyn), Mike (Debbi), Rob and Nancy (David) Dalton, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
