Jeanne Kelly Giroux

Jeanne Faye (Kelly) Giroux was welcomed into the arms of God on August 7, 2025. A visitation and Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Curé of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, KS 66206. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 11:00am, also at Curé of Ars.

Jeanne is survived by her four children, sons Mark Giroux, Michael Giroux, Peter Giroux, and daughter Michelle Giroux Stephenson; two daughters-in-law Nicole Giroux (Michael) and Kim Giroux (Mark); five grandchildren Charlie Stephenson, Braden Giroux, Will Stephenson, Lila Giroux and Elaine Giroux; six siblings Karen Langworthy, Jim Kelly, Nancy Shuss, Mike Kelly, and Lynn Willnauer; many in-laws, out-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a multitude of life-long caring, loving friends. Jeanne was preceded in death by her brother Christopher Kelly.

Jeanne was born on February 18, 1948, to Randall and Betty Kelly in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the eldest of seven children. Randall and Betty moved the family to Leawood, KS in 1956, which they called home for the rest of their lives. Jeanne was a member of the first 8th grade graduating class from Curé of Ars Catholic School. She graduated from St. Teresa’s Academy High School in 1966 and received her undergraduate degree in Education from Avila College. A lifetime of education in Catholic schools nurtured a strong faith, committed prayer life, and fierce devotion to Our Lady which never wavered.

Jeanne was married in 1970, and over the next 11 years had four children. Jeanne had a remarkable eye for design and style. She utilized this talent embarking on ventures in the jewelry and interior design business. In the early 1990’s, Jeanne decided to pursue a career in the world of finance. Her first job was working on the securities desk at A.G. Edwards & Sons. She worked in similar roles at both Commerce Bank and UMB Bank through 2008.

What Jeanne loved, above all else, was being around family and friends. She was extremely generous, always there to offer help or advice or words of encouragement wherever, whenever. Jeanne made friends quickly and easily – she had an incredible way of making people feel comfortable from the word hello. Everyone loved Jeanne.
