Jeanne M. (Sheehan) Traxler, 85, of Kansas City, MO passed away August 24, 2017. Visitation will be 9am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10am, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 9020 E. 51st Terr, Kansas City, MO 64133. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Jeanne was born January 2, 1932 to Bernard and Elizabeth Sheehan in Ottumwa, IA. She married war hero Dallas Traxler when she was 18, in January 1950. They had three sons, Steve, Mark and Chris. Jeanne was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church for over 50 years. She was very involved with the church as a Eucharist Minister and Lector. She was passionate about dancing, singing and was an accomplished pianist/organist. Jeanne’s grandchildren were her world and she was able to share and pass down her talents to them. She was also an avid Chiefs and Royals fan, holding season tickets to the Chiefs games.
Dancing and Taco night at VFW Post 1829 will not be the same without her, as she attended those events regularly and was always quick to volunteer and lend a helping hand. She was a very generous person, providing a warm meal and cozy bed to anyone who needed it. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas. Her door was always open and on Christmas Eve, she would invite any and every one over for Christmas dinner. Jeanne was a very well kept, put together lady, always making sure she was dressed to the nines before leaving the house, even in her later years.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and husband Dallas. Survivors include her sons Steve, Mark, and Chris Traxler and his wife, Mary; grandchildren Ryan, Erinn, Hannah, MaryAnn, Joel, and Meaghan and one great granddaughter, Maelee.
