Jeri Jean Hatteberg was born the youngest of 6 siblings. Her love and dedication to her family and friends has always been one of her greatest attributes and we were all abundantly blessed to have been loved by Jeri. She left behind family including siblings, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and so many friends. One of Jeri’s greatest gifts was that she loved well! She was an encourager to her core. You always knew Jeri was rooting for you in any situation. Her smile was electric and her humor was its fitting companion. She emulated joy and it only took one conversation with Jeri to experience her charm. As her family and friends, our lives were enriched by Jeri’s love for us and we are blessed because of it.
Her roots may have started as a young farm girl in Iowa but her love for travel took her across the globe. Her love of adventure took her to many interesting destinations. She loved to learn about the world and would come back from trips with souvenirs that represented the soul of her travels. She loved immersing herself in different cultures. Her face would light up as she narrated stories from her many trips, both domestic and international. It was one of her true passions in life and she inspired many of us to book that trip!
Jeri’s zest for life was a lesson for us all. She was a constant in a world of change. She was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior. Jesus’ light shined like a beacon from her soul. She knew without a doubt to Whom she belonged. She was loyal to those she loved. She was a charitable giver to those less fortunate. She was a fighter to the end. Her physical battles were fierce but her spirit never wavered. She was a realist and a protector as she methodically prepared those she loved for what was to come. Her courage was undeniable. She left nothing unsaid and regret was foreign to her. With a simple smile, her calming spirit would bring your soul to a place of balance. She led by example and would never tell you to do what she wasn’t willing to do herself. Jeri lived life to the fullest. Her soul was genuine and compassionate. Her life taught us to love each other above all things and see all that life has to offer because God’s blessings are plentiful. Her handprint will forever be cemented in the lives of those she loved. We are forever grateful for her presence in our lives. We rest in the Promise of Everlasting Life because we know that is the bridge that connects us until we meet again.
