Jerry Carpenter, 87, of Independence, MO, passed away on March 4, 2018. Visitation to be held Saturday, March 10th at 9:00 AM. Service time at 10:00 AM at Floral Hills Funeral Home 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., KCMO 64133. Interment to follow service at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Jerry was born September 8, 1930 in Liberal, Missouri. He was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area; and he retired from Armco Steel Company. In 1996 Jerry had the honor to be Potentate at the Ararat Shrine in Kansas City, Missouri. Member of the Ararat Shriners, Royal Order of the Jesters, Court # 54, Mt. Washington Masonic and PBX.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Wanda; Son, Jerry (Debbie) Carpenter; Daughter, Vicki (Dennis) Minzes; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents; five brothers and one sister.
In Lieu of Flowers, please make donations in Jerry’s name to Ararat Shrine Transportation for Children, or Christ United Methodist Church. Jerry will be missed by all who knew him.
