

Visitation will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish, 14251 Nall Avenue, Leawood, KS on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:00 am. The Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, followed by a reception. A private family-only graveside service to follow.
Jerry was born in Kansas City, and soon developed a passion and talent for tennis at age 3. Through his hard work and dedication, Jerry soon achieved the rank of 34th in the country for youth tennis players and earned the 1st place rank in the Kansas City area at age 14. He was a graduate of Rockhurst High School and went on to play tennis at Rockhurst University while majoring in Economics. Jerry was a member of the United States Armed Services Tennis Team during the Korean War, while stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Jerry married the love of his life, Martha. They celebrated 65 years of marriage until her passing in 2022.
They raised 5 children together, Patrick (Mariclaire), Cheryl (Michael), Kellie (John), Terry (Lori), and Marie (Victor). They also adored and cherished 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Jerry's business career spanned over five decades in Kansas City, beginning with local railroad operations and the automotive industry, then moving to a long span in the chemicals industry.
He was an active golfer at courses across the United States, achieving the feat of 6 holes-in-one with a 3 handicap, and played in over 70 Pro-Am tournaments.
Jerry and Martha supported numerous Catholic charities across the country, while volunteering at Church of the Nativity and St. Michael The Archangel, both in Leawood.
Jerry was an avid reader of mystery and spy suspense novels, and enjoyed traveling across North America with his beloved wife Martha.
Their children would like to thank everyone who loved and supported Jerry over the years of his life.
