Jerry was born in Higbee, Missouri on July 11, 1936 to John and Dorothy (Comstock) Robb. Jerry graduated from Southeast High School and began his career with Milgram’s Grocery Stores where he worked for 36 years.
Jerry married Georgia Lee Hendley on August 3, 1957. He became known as Pops as he became a grandfather and retired from Milgrams. Pops could always be counted on as the family errand runner and babysitter. His 5 grandchildren have wonderful memories of their time together fishing, playing school, going to playgrounds - he was never too busy to focus solely on them and things that made them happy. He will always be remembered for the tiny package of M & M’s that he would hide inside a little white van in the basement. Every grandchild and great-grandchild knew to check that van when they came for a visit.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Gary Wayne Robb.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Georgia, along with a son, Michael Robb (Dorothy) and daughter, Melissa Hall (Jamie), a brother, Ken Robb (Elaine) and sister-in-laws, Dotty Robb and Judy Kurzweil. He had five grandchildren that he adored: Rachael Robb, Shelby Hall (Nate), Austin Hall, Mallory Zarda (Derek) and Madison Hall. He also had 4 great-grandchildren, Kincaid Foster, Liam Gray and Zane Gray and Henley Zarda.
While we are deeply saddened by his passing, we are relieved that he is no longer fighting the battles he faced here on Earth and are confident that Heaven is celebrating his return Home, having lived an extraordinary life of service and dedication to his God and his family. He was the kindest man who taught through example the values of hard work, decency and compassion for others.
Due to Covid, a private burial will be held at Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
Remembrance donations can be sent in his name to First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit, 2 NE Douglas Street, Lee’s Summit, Missouri 64063; http://fbcls.info/
