I remember when I first met Mr. Hernandez a few years back. I found him to be very feisty and then I realized where Phil gets it from. I also appreciated how faithful he was, going to mass with his wife and son, often during the week. He was a real inspiration to those of us still on our faith journey. God bless you Mr. Hernandez and enjoy your eternal reward-- you deserve it!

I am so sorry to hear about Jesse's passing. I remember him with fondness during the time that I was pastor at Sacred Heart-Guadalupe on the Westside.
I remember when I celebrated Fermina and his anniversary in one of the son's houses. I was glad to meet the whole family and see how Jesse was truly a loving and loved father to his extended family.

I remember Jesse when I was pastor in the 90's at Sacred Heart-Guadalupe Church on the Westside. He was involved with the charismatic renewal. He had a love for the Precious Blood and I know would challenge priests who did not share the Precious Blood at Eucharist. I remember when I celebrated Mass at the house of a son. I think that it was a weddding anniversary of Jesse and Fermina. I was glad to meet that whole family at that time.
Blessings and condolences to Fermina and all the children of Jesse.
Sorry that I am not able to attend, being in Sedalia, MO. I will remember Jesse and you in the Masses this weekend.

I am so sorry to learn of Mr. Hernandez' passing. My last time to be with him was at Easter dinner at his daughter's home in 2011. Roni had graciously invited me to the family dinner after my mom had recently passed. I remember his kind, gentle spirit, yet he was a man of strong convictions. Mr. Hernandez was a good neighbor and my mom had worked with him on one or two neighborhood or school committees.

He has gone to the World above where Saints and Angels meet to realize his Creator's love and worship at His feet.

I am grateful for the life of Mr. Hernandez. Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.

So sorry for the loss of Jesse. He always showed us a good time when we would visit the family. He is now an angel that is looking over you. He will be deeply missed. Praying for the family and especially you, Nina.
