Jesus Sanchez, Jr., 75 of Kansas City, Missouri passed away March 9, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Adela, his wife of 37 years, was at his side and held Papie’s hand as he left this life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michaela (Corral) Sanchez and Jesus Sanchez and siblings Olga Pecina, Ercilia (Zamora) Lowe and Ida Garcia.
Jesus was a graduate of Rockhurst College and was a draftsman for Butler Manufacturing. Jesus was not just known as ‘Papie’, but was also known as ‘Chuey’ by the entire family. Chuey was always joking and had a great sense of humor. He loved golf, football and was a great bowler in his younger days. He leaves many nephews, nieces, cousins, close friends and loving family members with an empty spot in their hearts. We will always remember that smile and laugh that would always greet you.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013 at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 2 W. 75th Street, Kansas City, MO. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, where the rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to the St. Luke’s Foundation, 4225 Baltimore Ave. , Kansas City, MO 64111.
