

Jimmy Moloney: husband, father, friend and role model to all, passed away surrounded by his family on December 3rd at home. Jimmy’s legacy of love, laughter, and service left an indelible mark on the world. Born in Roxbury, MA, Jimmy was a graduate of De Le Salle HS (1964) and William Jewell College (1976) in Kansas City, MO. He married the love of his life, Marianne, in 1966 and raised three grateful children. Jimmy worked for Hallmark Cards in sales for 23 years before fulfilling his dream of owning two Moloney’s Hallmark stores in Tulsa, OK, and CJ Moloney’s Irish Pub in Broken Arrow with his brother Charlie. The Moloneys moved back to Kansas City in 1995, and Jimmy worked in gift sales for Raymond Bates, Co. and was the owner of Leonard Brothers Commercial Flooring. A great man of faith, Jimmy was a member of Parish Council and Men’s Club at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in OK, and part of the Knights of Columbus #7064 and countless men’s bible study groups in Kansas City. He was a current parishioner of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in North KC. A proud Irishman, Jimmy was a regular member of the Monday night 54th St. Grill clan. Slainte.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marianne, of Gladstone. He will be forever missed by his son James V, and his wife Kerry and grandchildren Jimmy, Charlie, and Kate, of Kansas City; daughter, Christie, of Kansas City; daughter Angela Dierschke and her husband Donny, along with grandchildren Jacob and Joshua, of Highland Village, TX, countless friends, and extended family members. Visitation and Rosary will be held on Friday, Dec. 8th from 6-8pm at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road in Kansas City, MO.
