Joan Evelyn Olson Huber of Kansas City, MO was born on October 24, 1942, in Cando-Towner, ND and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. She was born the daughter of Gilbert and Pearle Olson.
As a young child, she survived polio, an experience that left her with a lifelong disability. Yet, she never allowed it to define her or diminish the life she wanted to live. She showed so much strength, resilience and courage. She rarely complained about the challenges of her disability. And if anyone doubted her, she would say "hold my crutches". Her childhood leg braces are on display at Children's Mercy Hospital Adele Hall.
She graduated from Aakers Business College with an Accounting Degree. She spent many years in accounting, bringing her commitment and attention to detail to everything she did. She married John Gary Huber in 1966.
Nothing brought her greater joy or pride than caring for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she lovingly babysat and treasured.
She is survived by her children Teri Emery of Kansas City, MO; Troy (Deb) Huber of Omaha, NE; and Tammy (John) Larson of Gretna, NE. Grandchildren: Tess Farnan; Dakoda Emery; Jerece (Brady)Tolson; Samantha (Andrew) Emery; Champagne Murphy; Bobbie (Matt) Tracy; Rachel Larson; Abby Larson.
