She will be welcomed by her God, parents, Leean and Eleanor (Shimon) Huff, sister, Elizabeth Huff, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and her best Royals friend, Minnie.
Jo was born December 18, 1942 in Washington DC. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Sedalia, MO graduating in 1960 as Valedictorian of her class.
After graduating from MU in 1964, she began teaching special education at Franklin Elementary School in Liberty, MO for 31 years. Though not having any children of her own, she touched many hearts and minds and encouraged her students to be the best they could be.
She is survived by a great-aunt, cousins, and close friends.
Jo was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2016, her health slowly declined both mentally and physically. Jo was a very good hearted and generous person. We feel very blessed to have known her and will miss her.
We thank Benton House at Tiffany Springs, New Mark Rehab. Center, and Liberty Hospital for their compassion. In lieu of flowers, please donate, in her memory to animal shelters, children’s hospitals, Special Olympics, Alzheimer’s Research or Holy Family Parish building fund.
All services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1401 NE 42nd Terr, Kansas City, MO 64116. A visitation will be from 9:00AM-10:00AM (Rosary Prayers 9-9:15 AM), Saturday, September 29th followed by Mass at 10:00AM. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Following burial all are invited to return to St. Patrick Parish where the St. Joseph Ladies Circle will provide a lunch (THANK YOU GIRLS).
